Week 7 - Dorchester and Thamesford

Get ready to pedal through picturesque landscapes and enjoy the serene beauty of eastern Ontario with our Week 7 rides. Whether you're seeking a leisurely jaunt or a longer adventure, we have three enticing routes for you to choose from, all offering relatively flat terrain and unforgettable experiences.

Route Options:

  1. Dorchester - 56km:

    • Embark on a scenic 56-kilometer journey following the contours of the Thames Valley Parkway.

    • Exit the city eastward via Cheapside, enjoying the tranquil bike path along the way.

    • Contour the airport along Robin's Hill Road before heading southward to Dorchester.

    • Make a pit stop at the local Tim Hortons to refuel and recharge.

    • Return via Gore until intersecting with the Thames Valley Parkway for a serene ride back to the start.

  2. Thamesford - 70km:

    • Follow the same route out of the city, enjoying the serene path on Evelyn for approximately 15 kilometers.

    • Dive southward into Thamesford, where a visit to the local Tim Hortons awaits.

    • Journey home via Road 60/Catherine St, relishing the tranquility of straight country roads.

    • As you approach Dorchester, enjoy the contours of the Thames River before joining Gore and the Thames Valley Parkway for the return trip.

  3. Thamesford - 87km:

    • Experience an extended adventure with an 87-kilometer route, offering a mix of scenic beauty and exhilarating challenges.

    • Exit the city northward up Wonderland, tackling a roughly 2-kilometer climb as you exit the Thames River Valley. If you’re lucky, you’ll enjoy a welcome break at traffic lights peppered along the climb.

    • Head east on 9 Mile Road for 14 kilometers before diving into the exciting Fanshawe Reservoir river valley.

    • Reconnect to Evelyn and follow a route similar to the tail of other routes, enjoying the beauty of the countryside as you pedal towards Thorndale.
